Support for Prabowo-Hatta

Indonesian supporters of the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa presidential ticket donned white shirts, similar to the pair's uniform, and expressed their support for the pair in front of Buckingham Palace in London, UK, on Sunday.

According to a press release made available to kompas.com, the supporters marched from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace.

"Our declaration of support for the Prabowo-Hatta ticket from Indonesians in England is a manifestation of our love for Indonesia," Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in England customer service head, Hendri Lucky, said.

Hendri considered the support of several Indonesian communities in England as a symbol of unity and struggle to fight for a better Indonesia. Several in the group were members of the Gerakan Muda Indonesia (Indonesia Youth Movement), Gema Indonesia or Aktivis Gerakan 98 Bangkit.

Hendri added other declarations of support had been conduct in Leicester and in front of Old Trafford in Manchester.

The Prabowo-Hatta ticket, awarded the official number one on ballots, is nominated by a Gerindra Party-led coalition comprising the Golkar Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN), the United Development Party (PPP), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Together they could secure 292, or 45.3 percent, of the seats at the House of Representatives. (fss)
