In order to get a high score on the TOEFL PBT or TOEFL ITP, you must be fluent in all tests, including Listening. Actually, Listening is the easiest section, because you are not required to understand grammar. However, many of us fail at Listening because we don't know the right strategy. Here are some tips that you can try to apply.
First, you have to focus on the second speaker. Then, try to find keywords from the ongoing dialogue, if there are synonyms for keywords in the answer choices, that is most likely the answer. Next, learn how to draw inferences from context and expressions of agreement. Also familiarize yourself with sentences that have more than one noun.
Another tip that you can apply is to try to determine the topic of the dialogue presented, then answer the questions while you listen to the questions. You should listen to the first sentence of the recording carefully and try to predict the answer.
