Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are an instrument that contributes to the improvement of the overall buildings’ performance in a transparent and comparable way across Europe. EPCs were first introduced under the EPBD in 2002, and in 2010 the recast EPBD added a set of new requirements to improve the quality, usability and public acceptance of EPCs.
